The City of St. Robert’s considering getting into the public transit business, by starting 2 bus routes. Planning Administrator Lyle Thomas put a proposal on the table at the Board of Aldermen meeting Monday that would coveralmost 22-miles of the city. A bus carries a projected cost of between $30-and-$100,000, and require 4 part-time employees. As part of this public transit plan, the city’s looking into what grants for transit may be available from the Missouri Department of Transportation. Operating the 2 bus routes would have a projected fuel cost of around $19,000/year, and salary for the 4 part-timers of around $64,000. The total annual cost, without insurance or bus maintenance, is estimated at $83,000,
