The 19th “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive, which invites the public to leave non-perishable food items in or near their mailbox, takes place Saturday. The food will be distributed to local-area agencies, including The Salvation Army. Items suggested for donation include canned goods, pasta, rice, and cereals. Last year, the local chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers collected more than 121,000 pounds of food. Letter carriers nationwide will be taking part in Saturday’s food drive.
