A proposal to bring Ozark Technical Community College to Lake of the Ozarks has State Fair Community College defending their role in the community. Camdenton city officials reached out to OTC over what has been described as a need for a full-service community college in the area. State Fair President Dr. Joanna Anderson says they already provide that service.
Anderson says they’ll be meeting with city officials to discuss their how they can continue to be part of fulfilling the lake’s educational needs.
City officials are set to discuss the issue publicly at the second Board of Aldermen meeting in May.
In the meantime, State Fair officials will be attending a scholarship luncheon today for recipients of money generated by the annual GCMA concert. They’re also holding a training session Wednesday with the Small Business Development Corporation to help businesses obtain government contracts.
