Until the state gets some rain the state fire marshal is putting a red flag on any burning.
The statewide open burn warning was issued by State Fire Marshal Randy Cole. Cole says with high winds, low humidity, and a lack of rainfall at least until next week, residents should hold off on burning their trash and leaves.
The National Weather Service has also issued a red flag warning for all counties south of Interstate 44.
If you have further questions about burning contact your local fire department or fire protection district.
