There’s a partnership now underway between the Department of Health and Senior Services and Missouri’s Area Agencies on Aging.
The goal is to help senior citizens get the COVID-19 shot.
“We are hoping to reach older adults with the Missouri Navigator System. So we’re going to help access the system, sign people up on the navigator site and then we’ll also make reminder calls as people need them, as well as coordinate transportation to and from the appointments as people need them” says Marissa Peterson with Aging Best in Jefferson City.
“Right now the target is older adults age 60 and older, who need assistance with the registration process.”
Peterson also says call volumes are high after many vaccination events were cancelled during harsh winter weather across Missouri and the Midwest.
