Stoner to Appear for Case Review Tuesday

A former bus driver facing criminal charges involving a student will be back in court Tuesday for a case review. Joel Stoner was originally charged with statutory rape and child molestation after incidents that allegedly occurred in 2015. The girl involved was 15 years old at the time. After years of delays and legal wrangling, the charges against him have recently been amended to a single misdemeanor count of harassment. Prosecutors allege that Stoner kissed the girl, frightening her and causing emotional distress. The charge is punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
