The storms Thursday evening caused major problems in Versailles. Heavy storms brought down trees, crushing an unoccupied SUV and causing power outages due to power lines being snapped in half. 60 mile-an-hour straight line winds ripped roofs off homes and businesses and caused an estimated $75 to $100,000 worth of damage thus far. Around 10pm, three people and two animals were rescued from a vehicle that was swept away due to a flooded creek at the junction of Camilla Road and Proctor Road. Morgan County Emergency Management Director Rick Bias said no injuries have been reported in the area and Ameren has worked to restore power to those affected.
