A Stover man accused of a fatal shooting after staging a home invasion in March of 2015 is scheduled to appear this week in circuit court for a pre-trial conference.

50-year-old Thomas Capps is charged in Morgan County with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to the death of Ronald Salmons, Junior, at a residence on Dorsey Lane in the Stover area.

Despite COVID-19 concerns, the pre-trial hearing, on Friday, is expected to be held with Capps appearing in person with very few others allowed in the courtroom.

The case is being heard in Moniteau County on a change of venue.

Capps has been held in custody on a $250-thousand Dollar Bond since November.
