The Stover Police are reassuring the public of their commitment to protecting students. This comes a week after a perceived threat against an area school was discovered online. Stover supplies a school resource officer to the Morgan R-! district, along with other officers that go through the schools daily. In a statement posted online, Chief Trampus Jackson says his department trains a minimum of twice a year for the possibility of an act of violence on a school campus. He adds that they plan to conduct such a training exercise this weekend. Jackson adds that anyone who notices anything unusual in town should not hesitate to contact them at 377-4300.
