The National Weather Service says some strong to severe thunderstorm could affect the Lake area throughout the day on Tuesday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight. Weather hazards expected... Limited hail risk. Limited thunderstorm wind damage risk. Limited flooding risk. Elevated lightning risk. Limited excessive heat risk. DISCUSSION... A few isolated storms will be possible through the early morning hours. Cloud to ground lightning and brief heavy rain will be the main risks. Additional scattered storms are then expected to develop late this morning and continue into the evening hours. A few of the strongest storms will be capable of gusty winds up to 60 mph and hail up to the size of pennies. Brief heavy downpours and frequent lightning will also accompany the storms. Localized flash flooding will also be possible. Heat index values will warm into the middle 90s to near 100 degrees. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Scattered thunderstorms will again be possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Daily isolated thunderstorm chances will then occur this weekend. Heat index values in the middle 90s to around 100 degrees will occur each day.
