Here’s one you don’t see every day–students and teachers happy that summer school’s started. That’s the case in Joplin, where classes started yesterday. The district’s offering an extended summer school through July 29, including transportation and breakfast and lunch. Superintendent C. J. Huff said a record 1,228 elementary school students signed up. That’s about a 25% jump from last years total.
