If you’ve stopped for gas lately, you’ve probably noticed a price jump. The National average of regular, unleaded gas as of today is about $2.23. This is still 50 cents less than this time last year. The reason for the jump is seasonal increases in fuel demand, reduced production as refineries undergo maintenance. Mid Missouri still has some of the nation’s lowest gas prices. Experts are hopeful of a reduction in the price of gasoline for the summer season.
