Temperatures remain high coming off of the warmest May in recorded history in Missouri. The forecast calls for temperatures in the 90’s and high 80’s for the next several days. The Missouri Department of Public Safety is putting out some hot weather tips ahead of Summer Weather Safety Week, which begins Monday. Make sure you check on your neighbors, friends, or family members who may be susceptible to high heat – especially if they don’t have air conditioning. Use extra caution to not lock pets or kids in cars. Eat light meals, stay hydrated, and wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing. Check your meds, too – some may impair the way your body reacts to heat. Finally, remember that you should be able to find nearby public cooling stations by going to http://www.mo.gov and entering your zip code, city, or county.
