Two locals are hospitalized after a car fails to yield Saturday in Cole County.
The incident happened at 3:20 on route B four miles south of Osage Bend Road. Sixteen year old Jeremiah Lashley of St. Thomas, Missouri was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile northbound on B. The St. Thomas teen went to make a left turn onto a private drive and failed to yield, turning into the path of a 1990 Chevy pickup driven by 44 year old Donald Hake of St. Elizabeth. The pickup hit the front passenger side of the Oldsmobile. Lashley, the driver of the Oldsmobile, was wearing his seat belt and refused treatment at the scene. Hake, the driver of the Chevy, was wearing his seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. His passenger, 46 year old Lisa Downing of Brumley, was also wearing her seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. There were both taken to St. Mary’s for treatment.
