A planned expansion of a quarry in the village of Sunrise Beach will not happen after a vote on Monday.
The board of trustees affirmed a planning and zoning denial of a request by Magruder Limestone to expand their operation off of Eddie Road. The limestone company had hoped to move the road to open up more space to drill.
Also after the Monday meeting two red metal flags will be installed on several 45 mile per hour signs inside the village limits. The village hopes to remind drivers of the new 45 mile per hour speed limit near the community center and in other areas where it used to be 55 miles per hour.
