Citing continuing internal turmoil and, alleged, bullying and intimidation by a board member and his group of supporters, one Lake Area fire chief has decided it’s time to move. Sunrise Beach Chief Dennis Reilly, on Friday, submitted his resignation to the district. Reilly says, in looking back over the past six years or so, he has no regrets about his performance and service to the district.
Reilly, who has worked for Sunrise Beach Fire since February of 2012, says he and his wife will be relocating out of state to pursue other possibilities. Reilly’s official final day on the job will be on, or about, October 10th but will remain on the payroll through the end of the month. At this time, a replacement has not officially been announced.
Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District will be looking for a new leader soon. Chief Dennis Reilly has announced his resignation effective on or about October 10th. Reilly says he and his wife will be relocating out of state to pursue other possibilities. He’s worked for Sunrise Beach Fire since February of 2012.
