The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District presented yesterday a certificate of appreciation to resident Cory Nairn of Stover Missouri for the bravery he showed during a boat fire back in July at the Lake of the Ozarks. According to Fire Chief Dennis Reilly, Nairn used a 2×4 to push a burning boat as far away from the gas dock as possible to avoid what could have been a devastating explosion. The award was presented during the board’s annual meeting where they also discussed that the district has already begun their annual fire hydrant inspections. They will move through the village of sunrise beach into porto cima and finish at the villages of Shawnee bend. Residents may notice a rust color in their water and if you notice this you should run your water until it becomes clear.
