A pair of area fire protection districts will be going to the voters with proposed tax levies in August. One that is not, at least not yet, is Sunrise Beach. Despite continued increases in their run numbers, Chief Dennis Reilly says they’re just not quite ready yet.
Reilly says he wouldn’t be surprised to see them put an issue on the ballot soon, but it won’t happen in the primary. Lake Ozark is seeking a 30-cent tax increase for their ambulance service. Mid-County wants an extra 19-cents to hire additional firefighters.
