Sunrise Beach Fire District is considering changing the fee structure for building permits within the district. Chief Dennis Reilly says the way the system currently works, permit costs are based on cost of construction, which is always estimated. Reilly says it will be much more fair to base those fees on actual square footage of the building.
The topic will be discussed at an upcoming meeting of the district board. The board will also be discussing the possibility of requesting a levy increase from voters.
That meeting will be held Monday at 5:30 at the headquarters on Porter Mill Spring Road.
