The City of Sunrise Beach might soon save some cash on paying back the balance of a $629-thousand clean water state revolving fund loan that was awarded back in 2013. That is, if a recommendation is approved by the clean water commission to reduce the current one-percent annual loan administrative fee down to one-half percent. There are 51 other clean water direct loans, statewide, that would also see the administrative fee reduced. The fee changes would not affect the administration of the loan program but would, however, reduce the amount of funding available for other purposes over a five-year period. The clean water commission will decide on whether or not to reduce the administrative fees currently being collected during next week’s meeting in the state capitol.
