A Sunrise Beach native has been named the 2019 Military Instructor of the Year. Tamika Williams is 1996 graduate of Roosevelt High School in St. Louis. She was honored in a ceremony onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola January 23rd. Williams is the training division officer at the Training Support Center, Great Lakes. She oversees training programs for over 340 staff members and more than 4500 students daily. Her areas of training cover all aspects of military life, ranging from mentorship and leadership to military drill, customs and courtesies, and naval heritage.
