The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District is continuing to grow and meet the challenges of the day to day in the district. According to Fire Chief Dennis Reilly, the fire department has been working on building an Ebola response team set to take care of any Ebola situation that may arise. They’ve begun by setting up a specific truck to be Ebola ready per the request of the Homeland Security Administration. The board also is working on approving a full staffing plan for the fire station No. 3 based on the end of the year financial information. Reilly also says they’re looking at re-designing the department’s logo to better reflect the service to the community. The district will now begin their regular testing procedures on apparatus, flows and inspections along with a required fire drill at the local schools.
