A person-of-interest wanted for questioning about an assault in late April, in Miller County, has been taken into custody. Sheriff Louie Gregoire says deputies responded to the St. Elizabeth area after receiving a report that a 21-year-old male resident of Taos had been stabbed in the neck and taken to the hospital. The victim’s car was also reported as stolen and the suspect identified as 23-year-old Ryan Scott Garvin, of Jefferson City. With assistance from the Jefferson City Police and the Cole County Sheriff’s Department, Garvin was taken into custody and has, formally, been charged with two counts each of first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Garvin is also charged with first-degree robbery…he’s being held on a $300-thousand bond.
