The cities of Osage Beach and Lake Ozark are partnering together in order to regulate taxi services. Lake Ozark Mayor Johnnie Franzeskos and Osage Beach Mayor Penny Lyons announced yesterday (Monday) that they have directed their staff to cooperate in drafting city ordinances regulating taxi services. They have come up with four goals which include ensuring public safety thru a licensed and insured taxi service, creating a level playing field for all competing businesses while avoiding unnecessary barriers to new operators, and ensuring adequate taxi and transportation options in the lake area. The final goal is to eliminate duplicate regulation by creating a system where a qualified and safe taxi may work freely in both cities and concentrate on delivering passengers to their destinations.
