The Missouri House has given final approval toa bill changing how sexcual abuse allegations in schools are handled and prevented. School districts would be required to notify other districts if one of their teachers is fired or forced to resign for sexually abusing a student. It also requires schools to report allegations of child abuse to the state within 24 hours. The state would be required to investigate those reports. The bill also creates a task force aimed with the job of finding ways to prevent child sex abuse and bars registered sex offenders from running for school board positions. The bill now goes to Gov. Nixon.
