Damage assessment teams in Missouri will be going from county to county to evaluate the damage caused by the recent flooding. According to Governor Nixon’s office, once damage assessments are completed, Nixon could then make a request for a federal disaster declaration. At the local level, more than 80 homeowners and 2 businesses in Camden County are reporting flood damage. Up to this point, 9 property owners in Miller County are reporting damage with some of those being agriculturally related. An estimated 50 thousand dollars worth of damage has been reported in Morgan County. However, According to Morgan county Emergency Management Director Rick Bias, it will be difficult to place a figure on this latest disaster ntil the flood waters recede. Camden County Emergency Management Director Ron Gentry adds it is important for residents to keep track of information concerning flood damage so that it can be submitted later if the Tri-County Area is declared a Federal Disaster Area.
