Teens Seriously Injured in Crash on Rt. 5 in Morgan County

A serious Accident involving teenagers occored around 830 pm last night. The accident took place on highway 5 about a half of a mile south of Versailles. The accident was caused when the driver of a 1993 ford was overtaking vehichles in the northbound lane and at a high speed hit a vehicle in the southbound lane head on. The southbound vehicle was a 2004 ford driven by Derek Garvin, age 20. The other vehichle was driven by 19 year old Christopher white. Both drivers involved were seriously injured and were taken by staff for life to University Hospital. The passeneger in vehicle 1 was moderately injured and taken via ambulance to Capital Regional.
