Petitions are being circulated in the Climax R-IV School District, and they ask voters to agree on a ballot question for the April 3rd election that would allow the district to disappear. Why? Those behind then drive say there’s something wrong with a district that has the highest per pupil spending in the Lake area, yet the district’s high school students on the most recently released MAP tests scored 36.4% in communication arts and 31.6% in math. Last year, high school students scored 48.7 in math and 40.8 in communications arts. Most other Lake Area high schools scored above 60% in both areas.
