Texans Take 2 Dam Days Marathon

Two Texans paddling tandem took first place at this years 2 Dam Days paddle and canoe marathon. Tommy Yonley and Mark Addison paddled from Truman Dam to Captain Ron’s on Saturday in 7 hours 53 minutes and 44 seconds. Captain Ron’s to Bagnell Dam on Sunday took the Texans 4 hours 37 minutes and 53 seconds. Olympian Mike Herbert from Arkansas won the men’s solo competition for the second year in a row, paddling the 90 miles with a Saturday time of 8 hours 6 minutes and 23 seconds and a Sunday time of 4 hours 38 minutes and 25 seconds. The women’s solo champion was Sandy Yonley, the wife of the tandem champion. The mixed tandem first place prize went to Chuck and Di McHenry of Ironton, Missouri.
