Just days after a botched execution in Oklahoma, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon’s Office is announcing that he has no plans to push for changes in the state’s execution protocol. A spokeswoman for Nixon says the Governor continues to support the death penalty for the most merciless and violent crimes. Attorneys for death row inmate Russell Bucklew are asking the Governor to reconsider. Bucklew is scheduled to be executed on May 21st for killing a southeast Missouri man in 1996.
