A toddler from Eldon is seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident on Adams Road in Miller County. The Highway Patrol says it happened around 7:00 Monday night when 1-year-old Sarabella Cox was a passenger in the Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 19-year-old Shawna Sharp, also from Eldon. The report says Sharp failed to negotiate a curve and overcorrected before the Jeep travelled off the road, struck a tree and overturned. The 1-year-old Cox was reportedly not wearing a restraint and suffered serious injuries…she was taken to Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City before being flown to Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital in St. Louis. Sharp and a second passenger, 15-year-old Adenia Love of Eldon, both suffered minor injuries and were treated at hospitals in Jefferson City…they were wearing seat belts at the time.
