Construction of a new early learning center and tornado safe room for the Eldon School District will soon get underway. The District’s School Board has awarded a two million dollar contract to GBH Builders to complete the project. Work is scheduled to begin in late may and is expected to be completed in February. School Superintendent Matt Davis says the tornado safe room will be a welcome addition to the district as student safety continues to be a top priority for the district.
Earlier this month voters approved a no tax increase bond issue that will help provide the funds necessary to complete the proposed project as well as the installation of safety upgrades throughout the district.
