Vindication for a Lake Area businessman pulled over by the highway patrol in March and taken to jail on suspicion of drunk driving. The certified toxicology report released by the highway patrol, and dated May 17th, indicates Gary Prewitt had a blood alcohol content of zero-point-zero-one-one – well below the point-zero-eight to be considered intoxicated in Missouri. Prewitt’s attorney, Greg Williams, says release of the toxicology report from the highway patrol’s crime lab brings to an end any questions about whether Prewitt was drunk that night. No charge was ever formally filed in that case. The stop in March is not related to a separate incident in Lake Ozark in which Prewitt was a passenger in a car that got stopped and allegedly was involved in a verbal tirade and a physical altercation with an officer. Prewitt is scheduled to be back in court on those charges (two misdemeanor assaults and not wearing a seat belt) on the 19th of this month.
