A routine traffic stop on the Horseshoe Bend Parkway was anything but routine coming to an end with two St. Louis men facing felony charges.

Camden County Captain Chris Twitchel says the stop started going bad when the driver, identified as 24-year-old Verndemico Polk, Junior, provided deputies with a false I-D.

From there, it was determined that Polk had active warrants out of Pulaski County and was driving suspended.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered suspected ecstasy pills along with digital scales, currency, marijuana and two handguns.

Polk and his passenger, 25-year-old Mario McFadden, were transported to the Camden County Jail and were being held on delivery of a controlled substance charges with $75-thousand bonds each.
