We have boat races and car races at the Lake of the Ozarks, and there’s even been discussion of trying to lure air races to the region. So why not competitive running? It’s coming in 2019.
Competitive runners will be able to compete in the Lake of the Ozarks Trail Series next year. The series will feature three races, each with a charity partner that will benefit from the proceeds. Organizers say the new series will promote fitness through trail running, the beauty of the state parks system, and environmental stewardship. It all kicksoff May 4th with the Trail of Four Winds 25k. The charity partner for the first race will be the Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance. The other races in the series will be announced at a later date. For more information visit www.lakeoftheozarkstrailseries.com.
