Schools aren’t the only ones looking at additional safety measures in the wake of mass shootings. This week, the Highway Patrol Information Analysis Center provided training that could help protect parishioners at houses of worship. The training was designed for church officials, people responsible for site safety and security, and law enforcement officers. It included information on previous threats and incidents targeting faith-based locations and events. Representatives from several area law enforcement agencies attended. KRMS Radio attempted to contact Camden County Sheriff Tony Helms for comments on a press release he issued regarding the event, but received no return phone call.
