Trash Truck Fire

Smart thinking by the driver of a trash truck possibly saved his truck, as well as himself, from harm. Around 9 o’clock Monday morning, crews from the Osage Beach Fire Protection District responded to a fire at Highway 54 and Key Largo Road. Upon arrival it was discovered that the fire occurred in the back of a trash truck. When the driver noticed the fire he dumped his load on the access road of Key Largo. Chief Jeff Dorhauer says the cause of the fire could be a number of things.

 

 Chief Dorhauer says the true cause of the fire will never be known. He also says the smart thinking by the truck driver made the job a lot easier, as well as safer, for the department.
