Trial Date Set for Mother who tried to kill Infant and Herself

The mother who was arrested in early February for trying to kill her nine month old child and herself will have her day in court soon. Bradie Simpson of Camdenton was reported missing by her older son who called to report his mother and sister were missing. The child also explained to the deputies that he had found a knife covered in blood on the floor of Simpsons mobile home. Local deputies and other law enforcement scoured the area for nearly an hour-and-a-half according to police reports before finding Simpson sitting against a tree holding her daughter. The child had been cut across the throat and wrists by Simpson and was not responding to authorities when they tried to revive her at the scene. Police also found Simpson also had a laceration on her neck showing assigns of attempted suicide. After receiving treatment the baby underwent emergency surgery and a week later was released into protective custody.
