The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection to a stolen vehicle. Tuesday evening they received a report of a stolen pickup on Highway C, close to AA. The owner had parked the vehicle along the road in an attempt to sell it. A man contacted the owner to test drive the Dodge Dakota and when allowed to do so he never returned. Then, early this morning, deputies saw the vehicle traveling south on Highway 5 just north of Highway 50. The pursuit led them to Route D where deputies deployed stop sticks at the Route D and Route Z intersection. The driver then turned onto Red Robbin Road, where he crashed into the fence of a private residence and fled on foot. He was quickly detained. Also, in the vehicle, there was a female passenger who was also detained. A search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The names of the subjects are being withheld pending formal charges.
