Two boats suffered extensive damages when they collided at the one mile mark of the Grand Glaize. Both operators were from Linn Creek. The water patrol says 50-year old Steven Varner, operating a 1998 Charger, hit 27-year old Charles Blackstone’s 1988 Sunrunner on the starboard side at approximately 9:40 Thursday night. Despite the damages, Varner’s boat was able to be driven from the scene. Blackstone’s boat was towed to the marina at PB2. Neither driver was injured in the accident. Blackstone did not have a floatation device. It’s unknown whether Varner had one aboard his boat.
