Two people are dead in the crash of a helicopter that took off from Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland Friday night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreckage was found Saturday in a heavily wooded area near Cross Timbers, west of Highway 65 in Hickory County. Elizabeth Isham Cory, regional spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, says the helicopter was registered to Lucas Oil. A pilot and once passenger were on board. The identity of the victims has not yet been released. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the crash.
