The accident happened at 7:30 Monday night on Missouri 52, just east of Barnett. A 2004 Mazda driven by 26-year old Michael Hardy of Versailles was westbound when the vehicle crossed the centerline, hitting an eastbound 1997 Dodge and 2005 Chevrolet.
The Dodge and Chevy both went off the south side of the road and overturned. The Mazda came to rest on the north side of the road. Hardy, the driver of the Mazda, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries.
Everyone was wearing seat belts in the Dodge. The driver, 30-year old Joshua Bell of Iberia, suffered moderate injuries. An infant, Joshua Junior, and 20-year old Janie Bell were moderately injured. A one year old, Andrew Bell, suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia.
In the Chevrolet, the driver, 30-year old Venantas Supronas of Jefferson City, suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital. His passengers, 27-year old Nerijus Simutis and 25-year old Mikhail Arkhipov, both of Lake Ozark, suffered moderate injuries.
