Two people are injured, one seriously, in separate incidents on the water over the weekend here at the Lake. Reports from the highway patrol indicate the first happened around 5:45 Saturday afternoon near the 30-mile mark of the main channel. A 23-year-old St. Louis woman was being pulled on a tube when the boat turned and the rope became lodged in the motor. The operator of the boat attempted to accelerate causing the rope to become taut and the tube to whip around injuring the woman. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Lake Regional. The second incident happened an hour later in the same area when a boat was slowing down for a wake causing the passenger, a 39-year-old woman from Imperial, to fall in the boat when it struck the wake. Her injuries were described as moderate and she was also treated at Lake Regional.
