Driving too fast for conditions is being blamed for a one-car accident sending two lake area residents to the emergency room.
The highway patrol says it happened late Thursday afternoon when a Mustang driven at a high rate of speed on Golden Beach Road, west of Route-W in Morgan County, failed to negotiate a curve on the rain covered roadway.
The driver, a 17-year-old from Versailles, lost control sending the car off the roadway before striking a ditch and a tree.
Two passengers, 28-year-old Terence Robertson of Barnett and 33-year-old Michelle Nolan of Versailles, suffered minor-to-moderate injuries and were treated at Lake Regional.
The driver was not injured.
