Two people are dead following separate traffic accidents over the weekend along the Osage Beach Parkway. Osage Beach Lieutenant Michael O’Day says the first happened Saturday afternoon in the six-thousand block of the parkway when the eastbound car driven by 40-year-old Jessica Jones, of Lebanon, crossed over the center and westbound lanes before striking a guide wire for a utility pole, a billboard and a tree. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. The second accident happened late Sunday morning in the 54-hundred block of the parkway when officers were called to a report of a careless driver. The vehicle was stopped in the roadway and then took off as officers approached. A short time later, the Trailblazer driven by 79-year-old James Ferguson, of Camdenton, crashed through a barricade near Lazy Days Road before going airborne and flipping end-over-end…the trailblazer eventually coming to rest on the expressway. Ferguson was taken to Lake Regional with serious injuries and has since passed away. A medical condition is believed to have been the reason for the incident.
