Two Lake residents are facing numerous charges after they’re caught illegally fishing for Catfish on the Lake.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Russel Wallis of Camdenton and Samuel Phillips of Edwards are facing charges in Camden County of hand fishing and illegally taking wildlife.

The MDC says the pair were caught “noodling” which is a hand method of removing a parent fish from the nest, which in turn kills hundreds of eggs it was protecting.

Investigators say at least one of the men admitted to the hand fishing violations.
