It was quickly determined the woman, identified as 24 year old Melanie Emery, was impaired and before she could be detained, Emery ran back to the car and began to drive away. As the two officers attempted to stop the car, she clipped one of them and dragged the other for about 100 feet. Emery was eventually stopped at Dicky’s Barbecue. Charges from the alleged incident are pending and she was also arrested for probation violation, DWI and possession of a controlled substance. Another suspect in the vehicle, identified as 54 year old Mitchell Raborn of Roach was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
