Two People Seriously Injured In Separate Crashes On The Water

One person is in serious condition following a wreck on the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Highway Patrol says it happened at the 3 ½ mile mark of Downing Branch Cove.

They say 24-year-old Charles Phelps of Holts Summit moved his PWC into the path of an oncoming boat driven 25-year-old Tyler Crocker also from Holts Summit.

Crocker’s boat then collided with Phelps’ PWC.

Phelps was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.


In a second unrelated incident, a Wisconsin man was hospitalized for serious injuries after being struck by a propeller.

The Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Dhaval Patel of Grafton Wisconsin was swimming behind a boat that was idling, driven by 37-year-old Gautm Patel of Mount Vernon, Illinois.

When he attempted to climb into the boat, Dhaval was hit by the propeller.

Patel was transported to Lake Regional Hospital For Treatment.
