Two people are rescued following a freak storm accident near Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

Fire Chief Scott Frandsen tells KRMS News that lighting struck a tree along Office Road, causing it to collapse on top of a pickup truck with two people inside.

He says the individuals had stopped near a low water crossing to take shelter from the oncoming storm.

Firefighters had to wait for power crews because a number of wires also collapsed when the tree fell. Those wires later turned out to be cable and telephone connections, rather than live power.

No one was injured in the incident.
