A 56-year-old from Eldridge faces several charges after leading Camden County deputies on two separate vehicle pursuits within a 17-hour time period. The sheriff’s department says Floyd Welsh was able to get away when deputies, first, responded just before 3:30 Tuesday morning to a noise complaint in the area of Whispering Valley. Deputies then responded just before 8:15 Tuesday night to a report of Welsh being pursued along Route-D near Darby Hollow Road. That pursuit came to an end when Welsh failed to negotiate a curve sending the van he was driving overturning off the roadway. Two separate cases were filed against Welsh on Wednesday. In one, he is charged with felony assault with a special victim and resisting arrest. The second case includes two felony counts of first-degree assault, felony DWI-chronic offender and felony resisting arrest along with traffic-related charges. Welsh is being held without bond in the Camden County Jail.
